Freedom types

Convicts could obtain different levels of freedom, either by good behaviour or by reaching the end of their sentence.
Conditional Pardon
When a convict was approved for a Conditional Pardon, they were made free under certain conditions such as not being allowed to return to England.

Free Certificate
When the convict reached the end of their sentence, they were given a Free Certificate.
Free by Servitude
When the convict reached the end of their sentence, they were made free.
Ticket of Leave
When a convict was granted a Ticket of Leave, they were free to live and work in the area around the district, subject to certain conditions and supervision.
